Who I am:
I am Katie Hinton, a qualified solution focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist providing professional services. I hold a Level 4 diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and I am registered with accredited professional bodies: the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapists. I am also registered with the ICO. I am committed to protecting your personal information in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
The data I collect:
To provide safe and effective hypnotherapy services, I collect and store personal information including your full name, date of birth and contact details. Your GP details in case of emergency, a brief medical history and mental health information relevant to treatment. I keep brief session notes and consent forms. I collect your personal data with your explicit consent to be able to provide hypnotherapy services effectively, to ensure your health and safety and to comply with legal and insurance requirements.
How I store your data:
Your data is stored securely in encrypted digital systems. Digital records are protected with secure passwords and encryption. Only I have access to your data. I do not share your data with third parties unless required by law or with your explicit consent.
How long I keep your data:
I keep client records for 8 years after your final session, as required by professional insurance and ethical guidelines. After this period, your data will be securely destroyed.
Your rights:
You have the right to:
Access your personal data
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request erasure (in certain circumstances)
Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable)
Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
